About North Whidbey Fire and Rescue
The fire district's service area, on North Whidbey Island, is predominately rural and surrounds the City of Oak Harbor and NAS Whidbey Island. The district operates out of 7 fire stations, providing fire suppression, emergency medical, marine rescue and technical rescue services and responds to over 2500 calls annually.
The volunteer firefighter serves the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life of property, to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. The volunteer firefighter is called upon day or night to perform duties in the following general categories; fire suppression, emergency medical aid or rescue, hazardous material response, emergency standby, training, and public education.
